A JASPER BRUSH WASHER, QING
China, 1780-1880. Elegant openwork carving in form of a melon on a leafy stem with a smaller fruit and a beetle climbing towards the opening. The vessel with a fine, unctuous polish and of deep green color mottled with blood-red inclusions, substantiating the minerals nickname of bloodstone.

Provenance: From an English private estate.
Condition: Very good condition with some old wear, one tiny chip to underside of a leave, few microscopic nibbles here and there.

清代鐵石英筆洗
中國，1780-1880。精美鏤空雕刻成甜瓜，葉子上有一個小瓜，小甲蟲爬向開口。 筆洗表面光滑，深綠色中夾雜著血紅色内沁，正符合了血石的礦物質綽號。
