A two book group of Borden Family history: the first is "A Concordance to the Holy Scriptures; Together with the Books of the Apocrypha , By S.N. (John Hayes, Cambridge 1698); rebound with portions of front and rear boards recovered, newly enhanced spine. The very first page of the original book reads in large writing - "Benjamin Borden, His Book 1706" followed by mentions of "Abgial" and "David". Then, the following page goes into great detail starting with Benjamin Borden & "Abigall Grover" being married in 1671, followed by Richard Borden "their eldest son" born 1672, Benjamin their "second son' born 1675 etc. detailing their nine sons and two daughters. --- The second title included was previously owned by Oliver Hopkinson (his name signed inside of front cover) there is a slip of paper at page 155 where his father, Joseph Hopkinson is discussed. The full title reads "Historical and Genealogical Record of the Descendants as fas as Known of Richard and Joan Borden who settled in Portsmouth, RI May 1638 with Historical and Biographical Sketches of some of their Descendants, compiled by Hattie Borden Weld." (no publishing information mentioned). The Borden Family and Bordentown, New Jersey are closely connected with the long history of the Hopkinson Family as well as the legacy of Joseph Bonaparte (1768 - 1844) in America.
