A toy Staffordshire blue transfer printed teacup and saucer showing pictures and verse from nursery rhymes. The cup has quotes and pictures from "Old mother Hubbard went to the cupboard". The saucer shows pictures and quotes from "There was a little man who had a little gun" The cup and saucer have registration marks from 1888 and the saucer shows a maker's mark for Whittaker and Co. of Hanley, 1886-9. The saucer measures 5" in diameter, the cup stands 2" high and measures 2.75" across the top. Some wear but no damage.
