A pair of Chinese export porcelain bowls dating from the 18th century. The exteriors of both bowls are white. The interior of the smaller bowl features a scene of officials conducting business in a garden. Near the rim are iron-red geometric designs surrounding smaller landscape scenes with birds. The interior of the larger bowl features a scene of figures in a garden. Near the rim are blue foliate designs surrounding smaller landscape scenes. Provenance: Larger bowl- 4 1/4 inches tall X 11 1/4 inches diameter; 10.8 cm tall X 28.6 cm diameter. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The smaller bowl has some cracks and fading paint. The larger bowl has rim restoration and fading paint. Provenance: A North Carolina collection.
