Mongolian dagger with sliver sheath and guard. Sheath with Qing jade and hard stone set Bian Fang hairpins. Handle and pommel are carved from a single piece of jadeite. Guard is silver in the form of a mythical beast. Attachment rings are attached with dragon head and pearl-formed silver. Dimensions: 18 inches long X 2 7/8 inches wide; 45.72 cm long X 7.3 cm wide. Blade: 10 inches long X 7/8 inch wide; 25.4 cm long X 2.22 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Rust at the base of the blade. Appropriate age patina.
