The figures, altar columns and floral decoration in opaque white and coloured glass manufactured in lampwork technique. This technique is characteristic of Nevers. In a mirrored showcase a figuratively designed altar. In the central niche a crowned saint in front of caryatids. The side niches are also decorated with figures of saints. In the upper part two angels. The altar is richly decorated with coloured glass stones, flowers, sea snails and cherubs. On the upper side of the display case an old label with French inscription. Dimensions 29 x 33 x 14.5 cm. Slight damage due to age. Wonderfully grown patina. Figures of this kind can be found in important glass collections such as the Corning Collection, Museum of Glass or also in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris in the Carnot Collection.Provenance: From a French private collection.Condition: II - III
