Rectangular softwood cabinet case on four compressed ball feet. Walnut veneer with band inlays of rosewood and fruitwood. Finely engraved and chiselled brass mounts, functioning lock with two matching hollow shank keys. Stepped sliding lid (action spring missing), underneath 17 compartments with old paper lining. The inside with three large compartments, yellow wool damask lining. The front half of the case is hinged and can be pivoted 180 degrees. In the middle compartment block 18 small drawers, the face panels with old content descriptions written in ink. Twelve open drawers on either side. Secret compartment on the side with another five drawers, the cover panel replaced. Partially small damages to the veneer. Dimensions 32 x 47 x 35 cm.Condition: II -
