Stobwasser is the name of the family who opened a manufactory for lacquered artefacts in Brunswick in 1763. Today, the name is used to refer to lacquered objects, mostly manufactured in Brunswick, that have been made with excellent craftsmanship by applying the special Stobwasser technique.
