Huge facetted glass beaker of deep hemispherical form. Translucent, light beige glass. Cut with stepped bands of roundels forming a honeycomb lattice. No chips. Intact. Diameter 11.5 cm. Height 9 cm. Extraordinarily well preserved. Sassanian glass was exported all the way to the Far East. A closely related bowl in Tokyo can be dated to pre-535, the year of the death of the Emperor Ankan, in whose tomb it was found.Provenance: Aus Schweizer Privatsammlung.Condition: II
