Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Mixtec people, ca. 1200 to 1500 CE. A fine pottery vessel displaying a round bottom, hemispherical body, and flared rim, all sitting upon 3 petite feet. The beautiful vessel is adorned with alternating horizontal registers of beige and sienna-hued glaze on the interior and exterior. An incised motif of abstract striations further embellishes the interior of the basin with several zigzag and step-pyramid patterns along the rim and concentric circles with lattice decoration at the center.
