DOEPLER, CARL EMIL the Younger (Munich 1855-1922 Berlin), watercolor / gouache: "Coastal Landscape with Reading Woman under an Oak Tree, signed lower right "E. Dopler", dated "25.8.1903" and titled lower left "near Hammershuis" (on Bornholm in Denmark; Hammershuis is the largest medieval Scandinavian castle ruin). Dopeler was first taught by his father, then studied at the Unterrichtsanstalt des Kunstgewerbemuseums Berlin and later at the Prussian Academy of Arts in Berlin. Framed in mount and behind glass in gallery molding. Dimensions in the passe-partout 10 x 17 cm. With purchase receipt from a Viennese art dealer (sold for 1000 DM).
