TRÜMPER, FRANZ (Gronau 1941-2021 Enschede NL), Two drawings - copies after Rembrandt: "The man with the oriental hat" and "Pole with stick and saber", drawing with ink or felt-tip pen on paper, signed "F. Trümper" and "Trümper". Square format; framed in curved wooden frame. Copies after the etchings "The Man with the Oriental Hat (ca.1635)" and "Pole with Cane and Saber" (ca.1631) by Rembrandt van Rijn. Trümper, originally a fabric designer, worked as a painter under the influence of Magic Realism and Surrealism. In addition to surrealist and naturalistic works, works based on old master models represent another part of his oeuvre. He imitates works and/or styles of past old masters and translates them with his formal language into the present time. Frame h. 16,8 x w. 12 cm, h. 22,5 x w. 18 cm. (Frame bumped and with traces of use).
