65,3 x 56 cm Condition Style of Zhao Boju (1120-1182), China, ca. 16th ct., Landscape with Garden in the Blue and Green Style. Framed under glass, ink and colours on silk. Signature: "Qianli Boju". One seal of the artist, not legible. Five collectors' seals of the famous art collector of the Ming dynasty, Xiang Yuanbian (1525-1590): "zuili Xiang shi shijia baowan", "(tian)laige", "shen pin", "gongbao shijia", "molin shanren". They are executed quite finely and their distribution on the painting is according to Xiang Yuanbian's custom, but there are weak points. One more collector's seal: "huanong zhencang". Zhao Boju, style name Qianli, was a member of the Imperial family of the Song dynasty (960-1279) and became famous as a landscape painter in the blue and green style.-Provenance: Acquired at Klefisch, Cologne, 1oth November 1990, auction 45, no. 742-Part. rest. damage due to age
