179 x 98 cm Condition Zhang Gu, China, Qing dynasty, Monumental Mountain Landscape with Scholar's Recluse. Hanging scroll, ink and light colours on silk, dated 1665. Signature by the artist: "In the autumn of the yisi year (1665) painted in the Xiangfeng Pavilion, Guyu Zhang Gu". Two seals: "Zhang Gu", "zi Yanzai". Two collector's seals: "Longxi" etc. Zhang Gu, sobriquet Yanzai, style name Guyu, was a noted landscape painter from Hangzhou. There are paintings by him from the years 1644 and 1663.
