Poetic inscription and signature by the artist: "This poem was composed by my friend Yang Jianyun, I have painted its idea here for my friend Zaoxiang, on the Double Ninth in the renshen year (1872/1932) painted and inscribed by Zhiyan in studio shuangyinzhai". Two seals: "Zhiyan" and "shengyu xiaoying". Yuan Sibi, style name Xicheng, alias Zhiyan, was from Xiuwen county and worked in a studio called Shuangyin zhai.
