H. 32 cm Condition A BLUE AND WHITE JAR WITH DUCKS IN A LOTUS POUND, China, Jiajing period. The so-called 'manchi jiao' pattern (pond of beauty), named after a poem by Ke Jiusi (1290-1343), was used primarily on robes of palace ladies starting in the Southern Song dynasty but was increasingly used on blue and white porcelain from the Yuan dynasty onwards.
