A mid 19th century French engraved gilt brass case carriage clock with push button repeat by Auguste, Paris c.1845 eight day twin barrel bell striking movement, stamped Auguste A Paris, underslung platform duplex lever escapement with helical spring to a compensated bimetallic balance, white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and minute track, blued steel hands, signed Auguste a Paris, engraved bevelled glass multi-pieced case, the rear panel with shuttered winding holes, finely engraved rococo-scroll decoration, lions head pivot lugs for the hinged tied foliate bud handle, on conforming skirt base height with handle upright 16 cm. Condition: No key present. Movement untested. Area of hairline damage to dial bottom right hand corner. Gilt on case is bright with very little rubbing
