WARING, J.B., Masterpieces of Industrial Art and Sculpture at the International Exhibition 1862, 3 volumes, London: Day & Son, chromolithograph title plate to each, 301 chromolithograph plates with tissue guards, gilt edge pages, bound in richly gilt tooled decorated red morocco leather with 4 raised bands to spine, presented in a velvet-lined walnut display cabinet with glazed door, cabinet measures height 59cm, width 29.7cm, depth 40cm Condition: the volumes show spotting and foxing throughout some of the pages but the plates and text are generally clean, all tissue guards intact, one plate (plate 12) is loose, rubbing to the spines and corners of the boards, the cabinet has losses to the veneer on top and knocks and chips to the edges, lock functions well, interior lining is loose in parts and has some losses
