An unusual large Chinese famille verte-decorated porcelain jar and cover 五彩带盖大罐 The slightly domed circular cover decorated with boys at play, with the glaze stopping slightly short of the edge, flattened circular knop painted with a floret; the body decorated with a meiren listening to a qin recital, as others watch, in a pavilion as boys play in a garden, with a slightly recessed unglazed base. Condition report: Surface soiling, scattered very small glaze pits, a few areas of light craquelure to glaze, a few areas of some chipping and rubbing to glaze/enamels, some scattered enamel skips; small iron spot above railing; the underside with a few spots of glaze, soiling to interior; the cover with scattered small glaze pits and black spots.
