A Chinese "claire de lune" or pale celadon-glazed pouring vessel, Huajiao 粉青釉花浇 Yongzheng six-character seal mark and possibly of the period 雍正六字款 或清雍正 Decorated with lobed "chrysanthemum-petals" to shoulder and body, the underside marked "Da Qing Yongzheng Nian Zhi", traces of a dark dressing to the polished footring. (H: 9 3/4 in.) Provenance: Acquired from a New Jersey estate by the present owner. NOTE: For another example of this form, from the Meiyintang collection, glazed white and with an incised foliate scroll band around the waist, see Christie's Hong Kong, April 8, 2013, lot 3050, where the form, both with and without handles, is discussed, as are other examples, variously glazed and decorated, in the Palace Museum, Beijing and other collections.
