Being considered as a leader in the community and being an astute business person, brought him wealth and a place in society that allowed him access to the political elite. His capabilities allowed him to bring in highly collectable items from his home country. His collection was extensive and of the finest quality. Items from his collection are part of this auction.Dimensions: Length: 24 Width: 12cm, Height: 38cmChinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Yellow Blue and Alum Red Dragon Porcelain Compressed Gourd Vase. The porcelain potted in a shape of double gourd bottle vase, with two flat bulbous bellies conjoined together, gently tapered toward flat and narrow opening lip, emerging dragon moustache flanked on the neck, raised on slightly concaved oval foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in yellow underglazed ground which contrast against blue and alum red color, depicted front facing imperial five claws dragon flying careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-shui waves. The glaze has smooth texture and moisturizing, attracting unceasingly admiration.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
