此炉顶为白玉质，带有红沁。椭圆形扁环底座，底部内凹，有象鼻眼。座上琢鸳鸯衔枝，细阴线琢鸳鸯头、颈、翅、尾部羽毛，曲直长短，随性施刻，尤以飞羽细线，根根见底，流畅中遇刚直，元明特征明显。鸳鸯为华夏珍禽，雌雄偶居不离，古称“匹鸟”，民间比作夫妇，唐人卢照邻《长安古意》句：“得成比目何辞死，愿作鸳鸯不羡仙，比目鸳鸯真可羡，双去双来君不见？”可谓名篇。有鸳鸯荷莲的纹饰俗称“鸳鸯卧莲”。参考：薛贵笙《中国玉器赏鉴》，第287页
