A Prussian iron portrait medallion of Princess Louise of Prussia (1808-1870), by Leonhard Posch (1750-1831), Early 19th century, Germany, Black patinated cast iron, the princess wearing a pearl necklace and chemise gown, engraved to the reverse Prinzessinn Louise v. Preussen . Starting in Vienna, the Austrian sculptor and medalist Leonhard Posch perfected his techniques during his stay in Berlin from 1804. Princess Louise of Prussia married Prince Frederick of the Netherlands (1797-1881) on 21 May 1825, and they lived at Korte Voorhout in The Hague.
