Southeast Asia, Thailand, Sawankhalok (Si Satchanalai), ca. 15th century CE; Vietnam, Anamese, ca. 15th century. A pair of wheel-thrown pottery vessels, an Anamese wine cup and lidded Thai jar, both painted and glazed with white and dark brown hues. The jar has a squat, bowl-like body surmounted by a hemispherical lid with a knob handle. The surface is glazed with hues of a tan-beige and brown-green. The cup sits on a ring form foot, and the walls are textured with incised line glazed in a deep brown, and a blue-gray motif on the interior.
