A 'MAGNOLIA' ZITAN LIBATION CUP, CHINA, 17TH CENTURY The finely carved cup of flattened conical form beneath an irregularly lobed mouth rim, raised upon an openwork foot that forms a gnarled branch, from which issue magnolia buds and a magnolia blossom. Note the elegant bordeaux-red color and the distinct 'crab's claw' marks, both noted hallmarks of Zitan wood.

Provenance: From a German private collection.
Condition: Good condition with old wear, few small cracks to the openwork, a minuscule chip to the rim, minor nicks here and there. Several old lacquer coatings, partially worn off and renewed over centuries. Fine, naturally grown patina overall.

十七世紀木蘭紫檀角杯
杯身呈喇叭狀，敞口漸細至小足，以浮雕、透雕手法刻畫木蘭花樹，木蘭花或是含苞欲放，或是嬌艷盛開，刀法樸拙厚重而不失精巧。請注意優雅的紅褐色和獨特的“蟹爪”紋理，兩者都是紫檀木的獨特標誌。

品相：狀況良好，鏤空處有輕微小裂縫，邊緣上有一個微小的缺口，很多細小的刻痕。漆層局部磨損和修飾。整體上包漿細膩。
