A RARE 'COMPANION OF PINE AND MOON' BRONZE CENSER, SONG YUE LÜ MARK, 17TH CENTURY China. The massively cast tripod vessel is of compressed globular form, supported on three tapering feet, the shoulders set with a pair of simplistic loop handles, neatly incised to each side with mythical beasts. The body finely decorated with two reserves depicting geese in a lotus pond, all finely engraved in high relief.

Inscriptions: Neatly cast seal mark to the base, 'Song Yue Lü' (Companion of Pine and Moon).

Provenance: British trade.
Condition: Very good condition with old wear, minute nicks here and there, minor casting irregularities, some encrustations to the handles, and a fine naturally grown patina overall.

中國。爐平口，頸部略收，腹部寬敞圓鼓， 身下三乳足飽滿，比例均勻，腹部荷塘鴨戲。兩側鋬耳圓形帶尖，線條優美。香爐沈穩大氣，底蘊深厚，持久耐看。
