A BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI, MING DYNASTY China, 1368-1644. Seated in dhyanasana with his right hand lowered in bhumisparsa mudra and the left lowered above his upturned feet, dressed in long flowing robes opening at the chest, tied at the waist, and cascading in folds. The face with a serene expression marked by heavy-lidded eyes below gently arched brows centered by an urna above full lips forming a subtle smile, flanked by elongated earlobes. The hair arranged in tight curls with an ushnisha.

Provenance: Old Viennese private collection, built over several generations between 1910 and 1975, thence by descent in the same family.
Condition: Very good condition with some wear and casting flaws, minor nicks, dents, losses and scratches, remnants of ancient pigment, the back with distinct file marks. Fine dark patina, the interior with little malachite and cuprite encrustation.

Expert's note: The distinct file marks to the back of the figure as well as the remnants of ancient pigment are characteristic of authentic bronzes of the period.

中國, 1368-1644年。釋迦牟尼結全跏趺坐，右手施觸地印，左手置於膝上，身著袈裟，袒露前胸，衣紋流暢。面目莊嚴，雙眼微閉，雙眉之間有白毫。頭頂高肉髻，螺髮密集。

來源：維也納私人老收藏，在1910 年與1975年期間，經過幾代人的共同努力建立，在同一家族保存至今。
品相：品相非常好，有一些磨損和鑄造缺陷，輕微的刻痕、凹痕和劃痕，古代顏料的殘留物，背面有明顯的銼痕。 細膩的深色包漿，內部有少量綠色和紅色結殼。
