A SANDWICHED AND WHITE-SPLASHED AMBER GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE China, Beijing, 1720-1840. The ovoid body supported on a short thick foot, the shoulder carved in relief with beast masks suspending mock ring handles and surmounted by a broad cylindrical neck. The transparent amber glass is suffused with splashes and swirls of white. The bubbles in the glass were intentionally conceived as part of the design.

Provenance: Belgian trade.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and manufacturing irregularities, minuscule nibbles to foot, neck, and mouth.
