A MUGHAL CARVED AND INLAID JADE FLASK
Northern India, 18th century. Of mango-form, the ribbed body within carved foliate borders, the matching bud-form stopper is screwed into the neck, the terminal set with a small garnet. The translucent stone is of an elegant bluish-gray tone with white bands and inclusions.
Provenance: Collection Française particulière.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, and minuscule nibbling to the mouth. The stone with natural inclusions and fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairline cracks over time.
