此件笔洗为白玉质，玉质致密细腻，局部保留原皮。主体为一剖开大瓜，开方口，内膛掏挖匀净爽利，打磨光洁，瓜上枝蔓盘绕小瓜累累，叶脉舒张，花蕊含苞。整器造型圆润饱满，工法巧妙，打磨精细，陈于案头清新优雅，有盎然春意。类似的瓜瓞绵绵洗在元代玉器中堪称典型，还有金、银、铜鎏金等材质作品。
