此件玉剑彘通体洁白，为平顶双檐式，其表面以浅浮雕的云纹和兽纹装饰。器背面有一矩形系带孔，便于革带穿过，可固定剑与腰带间，作为剑彘使用。宝剑上的玉饰在战国、汉代时比较盛行，玉剑首、玉剑格、玉剑彘、玉剑珌，均为古代贵族用剑的高档装饰品，故玉质精良，雕工精细，纹饰华美。
