此件包浆厚重，整体受沁。器呈椭圆环状，上部出尖，中间圆形镂空，正面鼓起，背面凹陷，表面光素，线条流畅，形制简约。韘亦称扳指，是习射时的护手用具，有斜筒、直柱、圆形和心形等不同形式，新石器时代产生，春秋战国时开始流行。拉弓时将韘戴在拇指上，箭羽从握弓之手的拇指处飞出时，韘可以保护手指不被擦伤。《诗经·卫风·芄兰》中有载：“芄兰之叶，童子佩韘。虽则佩韘，能不我甲（狎）。”表明至少在春秋时期，韘已经不完全是习射用具，佩韘成为周代贵族成年的表征。
