印光大师，师讳圣量，字印光，别号常惭愧僧，陕西郃阳赵氏子。幼随兄读儒书。颇以圣学自任，和韩欧辟佛之议。后病困数载，始悟前非，顿革先心。出世缘熟，年二十一，即投终南山南五台莲华洞寺出家，礼道纯和尚剃染，时清光绪七年辛巳岁也。明年，于陕西兴安县双溪寺，印海定律师座下受具。
