China, 1368-1644. Finely cast and incised depiction of a scholar in long, flowing robes riding on a water buffalo, holding a scroll in his hand. Good natural patina.

Provenance: From the collection of Alexander Popov in Novi Sad, Kingdom of Serbia, acquired between 1900-1920.
Condition: Fine condition with wear, tiny nicks and traces of use.
