A CARVED WOOD BITONG, QING
China, 18th – earlier 19th century. Several natural crevices are cleverly integrated into a scene with a scholar resting below a pavilion, surrounded by pine and cherry trees amid massive craggy rocks.

Provenance: Hungarian private collection. By repute in the same family since ca. 1960.
Condition: Excellent condition with old wear, some traces of use, few small chips to edges and tiny age cracks. Superb natural patina!

The carver has created a stunning three-dimensional effect by using two differently colored layers within the wood.

品相：品相極好，一些舊時磨損，一些使用痕跡，邊緣部位些微細小磕損與老化開裂。天然包漿良好。
