A SET OF FOUR BAMBOO WRIST RESTS, QING
China, 19th century. This rare set depicts peony (mudan), lotus (he, lian), chrysanthemum (juhua) and plum blossom (meihua), one on each wrist rest, finely carved in high relief, altogether representing the four noble ones respectively four gentlemen.

Provenance: Old English private collection.
Condition: Fine condition with beautiful, natural patina. Old wear and traces of use, mostly to edges. Few tiny nicks and thin age cracks here and there.
