笔舔上等紫檀木琢就，因形随势而就木兰花之自然美态。笔舔形作花瓣，一端以浮雕刻玉兰花骨朵，杆上几朵木兰花蕾包围，含苞待放，娇羞动人。花叶造型写实，顾盼有致，颇具生意。木兰有高尚圣洁之寓意，自古深受文人墨客之喜爱。唐代白居易便以诗作赞：“腻如玉指涂上朱粉，光似金刀剪紫霞。从此时时春梦里，应添一树女郎花。”取义高雅，雕琢精致，且呈相古典雅丽，质朴可人，当为清代文人心仪珍玩之物。
