A wooden ashtray netsuke of Hotei. 19th century The pot-bellied god of good fortune, seated and leaning again his treasure bag, laughing merrily while holding a jewel (tama) in his right hand. Remains of black lacquer. The underside with an embedded oval-shaped brass bowl. Cracks.
