An Egyptian bright blue glazed composition vessel fragment, New Kingdom, circa 1400 B.C., the outer curved wall section decorated with details in black showing a female deity, almost certainly Hathor, carrying a vertical sceptre, possibly a papyrus sceptre and a horizontal ankh seated inside a cabin on a sacred barque with water below. Behind her is a falcon-headed steering rudder, 7.4cm x 6.4cm Provenance: Private Collection of Werner Forman (1921-2010). Please refer to department for condition report
