A STONE INDUS VALLEY STYLE FIGURE OF A FERTILITY GODDESS 20th century. A work of a sculptor, reminiscent of the famous Indus Valley human figurines (3300 BCE to 1300 BCE). Of figural shape carved from a mottled white and green stone, depicting a seated fertility goddess, with broad hips and slender waist up to prominent breasts held aloft bent arms. The neck carved with a set of necklaces and the face, showing pierced holes for eyes and mouth, is flanked by projecting hair ornaments. Condition: Very good condition.
