BUTTURA, ERNEST (Antoine Eugène Ernest Buttura, Paris 1841-1920 ibid), painting: "Venedig vedute with a view of the Doge's Palace and Santa Maria della Salute", oil on canvas, signed lower right "E. Buttura". Sailing ships and gondolas at the entrance to the Grand Canal with a view of the silhouette of Venice with, among others, the domes of St. Mark's Basilica, the Campanile, the Doge's Palace and Santa Maria della Salute. Buttura was a student of François Victor Eloi Biennourry and Félix-Joseph Barrias, studied at the Academy in Paris from 1861 and exhibited regularly at the Salon from 1863. Works of the landscape and veduta painter and orientalist can be found, among others, in the Museum of Fine Arts in Nice and Musée de la Castre in Cannes. Canvas 55 x 81 cm.
