KAMPF, EUGEN (Aachen 1861-1933 Düsseldorf), painting: "Flemish village", oil on canvas, signed u. l. "E. Kampf". Woman and girl on a country lane in front of farmhouses on a stormy early spring day. Summaric, glazed to impasto and impressionistic work of the landscape painter, who preferred to depict Flemish, Lower Rhenish and Dutch motifs. Kampf attended the academy in Antwerp in 1878/80, later in Düsseldorf he was a co-founder of the "St. Lukasklub", the "Freie Vereinigung" and the "Deutscher Künstlerbund". Kampf, who became an academy professor in 1908, successfully attended the important national and international exhibitions since 1880, including in Munich and Berlin, as well as the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900. Canvas 51 x 60.5 cm.(2 small missing parts in the painting surface next the figures).
