Mart Stam, who was the first - even before Marcel Breuer, Mies van der Rohe or Le Corbusier - to transfer the principle of bentwood furniture to tubular steel, exhibited his model at the Werkbund exhibition in Stuttgart's Weißenhof estate in 1927.
