PORCELAIN FIGURE GROUP "Peacock couple", design by GUNTHER GRANGET (Karlsruhe 1932-2010 ibid.), white porcelain with gold accents, Hutschenreuther manufactory, model no. 8349. In light stylization worked peacock male, beating a wheel, behind lying female. H. 17 cm. Granget studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe. In 1967 Lorenz Hutschenreuther AG financed a study trip of the artist to the USA and Canada for ornithological studies. In 1969 the manufactory produced his first bird designs; later Granget was responsible for most of the manufactory's designs (from 1984 to 1996).
