FIGURE GROUP "Dancing girls / round dance", design Carl Werner (1895-1980), manufactory Hutschenreuther, mark 1969-1974, white porcelain with gold accents. On round terrain plinth two girls whirling in a circle. H. 20,5 cm. Sculptor Werner is one of the important porcelain modelers of the 20th century. In 1910-1914 he trained at the Aeltesten Volkstedter Porzellan-Manufaktur, and after the First World War he studied at the Kunst-Hochschule in Weimar. From 1922 he worked for art department of Hutschenreuther AG, whose artistic direction he later took over until 1960.
