A Chinese jade carved covered box with crane design. Oval shaped rounded box with crane design and other birds, in shallow relief on cover, base of box is smooth. A very shallow oval ring carved in base to create a foot. D. 4 1/2" (11.4 cm) Provenance: collection of Bernard Mannes Baruch (1870-1965) New York Condition: good condition overall for age and use, with repair to crack on one side of cover. Small nicks to rim area of bottom section of box.
