A Chinese mughal style spinach jade carved lotus bowl, dating from the Qing dynasty. Deep bowl with pointed lotus petals rising from circular flat base, carved thin, so translucent when held up to the light. Small raised foot. Accompanied by a circular wooden stand. D. 8" (20.3 cm) H: 2 3/4" (7 cm) Provenance: New Jersey private collector, acquired between 1961 and 1984, and thence by descent Condition: good condition overall with a crack extended from the rim to above the foot ,natural inclusion and fissure
