玉琮是一种内圆外方筒型玉器，其用途一向就是“以黄琮礼地”的祭祀礼器。后期又称“辋头”。最初使用于距今约5100年至新石器时代。此拍品呈扁矮方柱体，内圆外方，以转角为中轴琢刻简化。石之美者为玉，历经千百年依旧保留着晶莹的质感，部分外表已沁，包浆厚实受沁自然。玉琮器型规整，厚薄均匀，边角端正，轮廓分明，打磨抛光非常考究，并有拉丝、管钻、锯切等多种以砂为介质的开料制作痕迹。全器光素无纹饰， 整体造型浑朴，玉质温润。此器可为是研究中国文化玉器制作、内涵的重器，值得珍视收藏。
