Lovely pair antique French soft-paste porcelain vases with hand painted decoration depicting a pair of lovers each perched in their own blossoming apple tree and gazing out at the other. Warm naturalistic renderings that wrap around the backs of vases. Marked on bottom with incised “St. Denis” and shape number “787”. Circa 1880. Measures 13.25in height x 8in width x 5in depth. Condition: Overall light crazing typical of age, wear to gilding around top rims.
