An Egyptian green glazed composition shabti of typical form holding an adze and hoe with a seed-bag over the left shoulder, with ten lines of impressed hieroglyphic text, inscribed for a woman called Ta-di-Iymhotep, 26th Dynasty, circa 550 B.C., 18.7cm high Provenance: Private collection UK, gifted to the present owner's father by Spink and Sons circa 1952, and by repute acquired in 1910 by the then Bishop of Cairo who was a keen amateur Egyptologist.
